Unlike a traditional single speed pool pump that operates at one fixed output, the InverFLOW Plus can operate across a range of running capacities. This allows lower speeds to be used when full pump output is not required while still providing higher flow when the pool system needs it. The control system allows running capacity to be adjusted from 30% to 100% with settings automatically retained by the pump. The 1HP model has a rated input of 0.75 kW and a maximum flow of 367 litres per minute. At 8 metres of head it delivers a published flow of 300 litres per minute while at 10 metres of head the published flow is 233 litres per minute. Maximum head is 16 metres. These figures make it possible to assess the pump against the hydraulic requirements of the pool rather than relying on horsepower alone.

Noise is another major advantage of variable speed operation. The InverFLOW Plus 1HP is rated at just 35.4 dB when operating at 30% speed and 51.4 dB at 100% speed. This allows normal filtration to be performed at substantially lower sound levels when maximum output is not required.

InverMAC Variable Speed Technology

Skimmer Mode
Skimmer Mode periodically changes pump operation to improve movement across the water surface and assist the skimmer with collecting floating debris. Cycle interval, duration and operating speed can be configured.

Boost Mode
Boost Mode provides temporary high output when extra circulation is required. The pump operates at 100% by default and the duration can be adjusted from the controller.

Automatic Self Priming
The pump is supplied with automatic self priming enabled. During startup the system monitors the priming process and transitions to normal operation once it detects that the pump is full of water. The self priming function can also be adjusted through the pump settings.

Loss of Prime and Low Flow Protection
Madimack lists automatic protection against loss of prime and low flow as an InverFLOW Plus feature. The protection system is designed to shut the pump down where insufficient water flow could otherwise cause damage.

Compact Retrofit Design
At 544 × 252 × 288 mm the InverFLOW Plus has been designed to fit into relatively compact equipment areas. Madimack states that the range is designed as a replacement option for many common existing pump installations.

External Control Capability
The pump provides digital inputs and RS485 communication capability. Digital input operating capacities can be configured while RS485 supports Modbus 485 communication for compatible control applications.

Madimack Heat Pump Integration
The installation manual includes control integration with compatible Madimack pool heat pumps. This can allow the heat pump to activate the pool pump at an appropriate operating speed when heating is required. Installation Guide

• Install the pump on an RCD protected circuit with a rated residual operating current no greater than 30 mA. The pump must be correctly earthed and installed in accordance with applicable electrical requirements.
• Position the pump as close to the pool as practical to reduce plumbing resistance. Install it horizontally on a secure base and provide approximately 150 mm or more of clearance around the unit for ventilation. Avoid damp unventilated areas and keep the pump away from corrosive pool chemicals.
• Where practical keep suction plumbing short and direct. The suction pipe should be at least the same diameter as the pump inlet to reduce the risk of drawing air and restricting flow.
• Madimack recommends isolation valves on the suction and return plumbing so the pump can be isolated for future maintenance.
• Do not install a 90 degree elbow directly into the pump inlet or outlet. Keep valves, elbows and tees on the suction line at least seven suction pipe diameters away from the front of the pump.
• Check valves may be required where there are long pipe runs above water level, a significant height difference in the return plumbing or pumps connected in parallel.
• Before initial startup check that the power supply matches the pump nameplate and confirm all plumbing joints are secure.
• Fill the pump with water before startup. Never operate the InverFLOW Plus dry as dry running can damage the mechanical seal and cause leakage.
• Once circulation has been established configure the desired pump capacity, filtration timers and Skimmer Mode. WiFi setup requires a compatible 2.4 GHz network.
• Always follow the complete Madimack installation manual and applicable electrical and plumbing requirements.

Maintenance Tips

• Inspect the pump strainer basket regularly through the transparent lid. Empty the basket whenever debris is visibly accumulating as restricted water flow can reduce pump performance.
• Always disconnect power before opening or servicing the pump.
• Remove the strainer basket and rinse away trapped debris. Do not strike the plastic basket against a hard surface as this can damage it.
• Inspect the basket for cracks or other damage before reinstalling it.
• Check the lid O ring for stretching, cracking, tearing or other deterioration.
• Refit the lid using hand pressure only. Excessive tightening is unnecessary.
• Keep the area around the motor clear so air can circulate freely for cooling.
• Check plumbing connections periodically for air leaks or water leaks.
• Never allow the pump to run without water.
• If warning or error codes appear repeatedly investigate the cause rather than continually restarting the pump.
